A Model Prediction of Interior Air Humidity for the Solar Greenhouse

Summary

In order to simulate the process of vapor transfer in solar greenhouses, a model to predict the interior air humidity in solar greenhouses was developed. In the model, ambient vapor concentration results from the balance of four fluxes: crop transpiration, soil evaporation, ventilation and condensation at the film. Transpiration, evaporation, ventilation and condensation rates are calculated by means of models developed earlier. Through experimental verification in a greenhouse it was shown that the model could provide reliable estimates of ambient humidity.
