International Symposium 2018

新潟大学・刈羽村先端農業バイオ研究センター（KAAB）国際シンポジウム2018 を平成30年9月27日（木曜日）に新潟大学中央図書館ライブラリーホールにて開催しました。本シンポジウムには、学外からの参加12名を含め96名の参加者があり、また、ポスターセッションには学内外から44 件（講演要旨集参照：留学生9件）の発表がありました。本国際シンポジウムの開催に先立ち、牛木辰男 新潟大学理事および 品田宏夫 刈羽村村長からご挨拶とKAABの活動に対する激励のお言葉をいただきました。KAAB 国際シンポジウムでは、世界各国から植物科学・バイオテクノロジーに関する様々な分野のエキスパートを招聘していますが、本年度においては、KAABが進めている国際共同研究EIG CONCERT-JapanプロジェクトのメンバーであるスペインCSIC/UPNA 農業バイオテクノロジー研究所Iker Aranjuelo Michelena博士、バルセロナ大学Maria Dolors Serret博士、フランス パリサクレー植物科学研究所Bertrand Gakiére博士、Michael Hodges博士、ドイツ　ヘルムホルツ研究所Eckard Priesack博士、チェコ　パラツキ―大学Karel Dolezal博士および新潟大学KAAB のMarouane Baslam博士を招き、講演をいただきました。EIG CONCERT-Japanプロジェクトの「気候変動下における穀物資源の利用効率化に関する包括研究」と「植物病原体：環境条件の変化の下における真菌を用いた作物の収量と品質の向上法」に関連して、作物収量・品質特性に関するメタ解析、リモートセンシングによる圃場フェノタイピング、作物収量改善に関わる光呼吸やエネルギー代謝の理解、ビッグデータ解析による植物成長と作物収量モデリング、さらには新規サイトキニン探索についての講演、議論が行われました。さらに、バルセロナ大学、ミラノ大学、新潟大学の若手研究者や大学院生の口頭発表やポスターセッションにおいて多くの大変興味深い内容の発表がありました。25日の午後には、大学院生命環境棟第４，５会議室にてBertrand Gakiére博士とMichaelHodges博士によるパリ-サクレー大学・パリサクレー植物科学研究所の説明会がありました。パリ-サクレー大学はパリのノートルダム大聖堂（フランス国道の起点）の南西約20kmの地点にある大学ですが、美しいキャンパスと世界トップクラスのすばらしい教育・研究が行われています。今後、パリ-サクレー大学・パリサクレー植物科学研究所との国際交流そして国際共同研究がさらに活発になるものと期待しております。今回も、講演会、ポスターセッションともども活発な質疑応答、討論があり、大変有意義なシンポジウムとなりました。ご協力、ご参加くださった皆様に厚く御礼申し上げます。今後も皆様からのご支援・ご助言賜りますよう何卒よろしくお願い申し上げます。
